Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about poker. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse comments from other people kill his ambition of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.

Phil began playing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and always aspires to get better.

Although Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes winning money games on a regular basis.
