Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker competitor on the globe by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn anything he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental feedback from other people kill his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

He started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal love for poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is very humble about his achievements. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and always aspires to get better.

Although Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
