Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to pickup anything he could about the game. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the adverse feedback from others annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

He started playing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders in each session of poker and always aspires to improve.

Although Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
