Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker competitor on the globe by most of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the adverse comments from other people kill his ambition of being one of the best poker players in the world.

Phil started competing seriously after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he defeated a number of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Even though Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
