Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn whatever he could about the game. Phil would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world.
